It's similar to Philodendron linnaei, differing only in the leaf blade shape and veination.
Native to Philodendron insigne is native to Brazil (Amazonas, Bahia, Pará, Roraima), Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam and Venezuela., where it thrives as an epiphyte in tropical rainforests, growing on trees or rocks.
Water Maintain evenly moist soil, allowing the top few inches to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has adequate drainage. During the dormant period in autumn and winter, reduce watering frequency to prevent overly moist soil.
Light Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. In low-light environments, adjust watering to prevent root rot.
Humidity Thrives in higher humidity levels, ideally between 50-60%. In drier indoor environments, increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, placing a humidifier nearby, or setting the pot on a tray with pebbles and water.
Temperature Prefers temperatures between 15-18°C and can survive at lower light levels than other house plants. Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 12°C, as this can cause the plant to appear sick.
