Philodendron aff. glanduliferum is a striking species known for its large, glossy, green leaves and reddish petioles. It is native to the tropical rainforests of Guatemala. This plant starts its life as a climber but may become more decumbent (growing along the ground) as it matures, especially when growing in lower light or less vertical environments.
Native to: Philodendron aff. glanduliferum is native to Guatemala. It grows primarily in tropical lowland and foothill forests.
Water: The plant prefers to be watered when the top few centimetres of soil dry out. Like many tropical plants, overwatering can cause root rot, so it’s important to avoid waterlogging the soil.
Light: This species thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, providing moderate, filtered sunlight will promote healthy growth and more vibrant foliage.
Humidity: Being a tropical species, Philodendron aff. glanduliferum prefers high humidity levels, ideally around 60-80%. If grown in drier conditions, misting or the use of a humidifier can help maintain its health.
Temperature: The ideal temperature range for this plant is between 18°C and 27°C. It does not tolerate cold well, so it should be kept away from drafts or temperatures below 15°C.
