As the year wraps up, many of us are putting together wishlists for Christmas. And, if you’re a plant fan like us, houseplants often make the cut! If you’re wondering which plants will stand out in 2025, we’ve got some predictions for you in this mini blog!
To explore these trends, last month we partnered with Claire from The Jungle Haven. In case you missed her incredible 2025 Plant Predictions video, you can watch it here.
Alongside these exciting insights from Claire, our Founder Jacob and Horticulturist Jack compiled a list of plants based on customer buying trends, discussions with suppliers, and recent market observations.
Here’s what we believe will be the trending houseplants in 2025.
Pellionia plants are gaining attention due to their versatility. While commonly used in terrariums and enclosures, they also work well as hanging plants. Available in several varieties, colours and styles, these houseplants are becoming collector’s items for those looking to add something unique to their collections.
Variegated Euphorbias are still high on everyone’s wishlists for another year. But they do remain a challenge for many due to their cost, which, unlike other rare plants, does not seem to come down at all. Their slow growth rate may contribute to limited availability and higher prices, but they continue to be sought after for their distinct unusual appearance.
Hybrid Anthuriums continue to gain popularity, especially on Instagram. These plants are known for the variety of traits they inherit from their parent plants. Dark-leafed hybrids and those with strappy features are particularly in demand.
Dracaena plants have long been a reliable choice, and new varieties like Dracaena Goldieana are adding interest. Though this plant requires slightly more care than its relatives, it offers a fresh option for those looking to expand their collections with something different and vibrant to their collection.
Hoyas remain highly requested, and we expect this trend to continue into 2025. Varieties such as the Hoya callistophylla, with its distinct patterns, are particularly popular.
As we look ahead to 2025, we’re curious to know what do you think will be the most popular plant of the year?
Share your thoughts in the comments! Thank you for growing with us in 2024, and we look forward to another year of growing our collections together.
