Introducing ‘Orchids in The Wild - The Beauty of Nature' at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024

After last year's phenomenal success with the Florida Ghost Orchid, we're delighted to be returning to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s Great Pavilion with Orchid Conservation Chelsea next week. We’re continuing our collaboration with 22 prestigious global institutions to showcase a breathtaking array of rare orchids from around the world.
This year, our Orchids of Great Britain display will feature an in-bloom Cypripedium below - Britain’s Rarest Flower. The Cypripedium calceolus, (pictured below) was once thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in Yorkshire in 1930. A special thanks to Kew Gardens and Essex Wildlife Trust for making this possible.
The Orchids of India display will showcase critically endangered species native to Southern India, including the Paphiopedilum druryi (AKA ‘Golden Paph’ orchid) which will be making it’s debut at the Chelsea Flower Show with special thanks to Elite Orchids and Kew Gardens.
For the third display, several institutions and botanical gardens in North America have teamed up to showcase several orchids native to that contingent, including the rare and lovely Cypripedium kentuckiense, (‘Kentucky Lady’s Slipper) from Longwood Gardens. This species is listed as globally vulnerable with only about 4,500 individual plants thought to remain in the wild and will be donated to Kew’s living collection post-event.
We’re really excited to give visitors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see some of the native orchids found in these three regions in a realistic setting as well as raising awareness on the importance of orchid conservation.
Tickets are on sale on the official RHS website. We hope to see you there!
