The new shoots emerge red and mature to narrow, grey-green, aromatic leaves, so the plant has colour even between flushes. At around 1.5m it fits a small garden or a large pot where a full-sized bottlebrush would not.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHardiness and seasons.\u003c\/strong\u003e Rated H3 by the RHS, so hardy to around -5C and happiest in a sheltered, sunny spot or a \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/coastal-plants\"\u003emild or coastal garden\u003c\/a\u003e. Elsewhere grow it in a pot and give it some \u003ca href=\"\/pages\/hardy-exotics-what-to-expect\"\u003eprotection in hard frost\u003c\/a\u003e. It is evergreen. Sand, loam and improved clay all suit it. Expect 1 to 1.5m tall and around 1m wide.
