🌿 Plant Care Tips
An almost black, textural species with a very fine black indumentum (hairs) that give it a velvety feel making it the only 'hairy' Alocasia. Native to Borneo.
- New growth is green and hardens to almost black.
- Space saver because of its compact growth habit.
- Leaves are waxy and matte, with purple contrasting undersides.
Growth pattern: Tuberous & compact
Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.
Ideal Position: East facing
Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light.
Recommended Substrate: Alocasia Mix
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
